De Wapenbroeders Deel 3 / De Majoors. In dit derde deel in de serie De wapenbroeders komen we opnieuw Craig Lowell tegen. Lowell, weduwnaar en de steenrijke mede-eigenaar van een bankiersbedrijf, is opgeklommen tot de rang van majoor. Maar de eigenzinnige majoor zorgt als rokkenjager menigmaal voor een enorm schandaal. Door zijn ontegenzeggelijke capaciteiten is er echter op het laatste nippertje steeds weer een hoge piet die het voor hem opneemt. Zelfs als hij gedwongen wordt ontslag te nemen redt hem zijn inzicht en wordt hij overgeplaatst naar de Sectie Ontwikkeling Nieuwe Luchtsteuntechnieken. Uiteraard zijn ook majoor MacMillan en majoor Filter van de partij en majoor Bellmon brengt het (in vijftien jaar) zelfs van majoor tot brigade-generaal. De romantiek is vertegenwoordigd in de persoon van de jonge burgemeestersdochter Melody Dutton. Zij trouwt uiteindelijk met luitenant Greer, die bij een heli-ongeluk om het leven komt.
